Hey there Shakira, happy 44th birthday! Throughout the past two decades, the talented singer has stunned us all with her amazing outfits. Let’s take a closer look at her style evolution. Back in 2000, Shakira had already won a Latin Grammy and looked absolutely gorgeous in a red wrap dress with long blonde curls. At the time, she was making a name for herself in Latin America and preparing to break into the U.S. market. In the early 2000s, she experimented with different styles, sporting a short asymmetrical blonde bob and a fishnet and denim outfit for her appearance on VH1’s “Divas Las Vegas” in 2002. By then, she had released her first English album “Laundry Service” and took the U.S. by storm with her hit single “Whenever, Wherever”.

Shakira, the Colombian pop sensation, was known for her sexy style with wavy curls and midriff-baring outfits during her “Mangosta” tour in 2003. However, it wasn’t until the release of her hit song “Hips Don’t Lie” featuring Wyclef Jean in 2005 that she fully embraced this look. In the music video, she wore a tiered orange satin skirt and matching T-shirt tied around her waist, exhibiting her remarkable hip-shaking skills that captivated many fans.

Despite her flashy music videos, on the red carpet, Shakira proved to be a style icon. She stunned at the 2008 ALMA Awards in a strapless black gown with a zip-up front and an oversized statement belt. While she kept her signature blonde curly locks for most events, she opted for long, soft waves when meeting soon-to-be President Barack Obama in 2009 at the “We Are One: Opening Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial” in Washington D.C. This change suited her well, as she wore a similar style in August of the same year while attending the MTV Video Music Awards. For this event, she rocked a black and silver sleeveless mini dress paired with knee-high boots that left everyone in awe.

In February 2020, Shakira performed during the halftime show of the NFL Super Bowl LIV football game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs in Miami Gardens. She has been in a relationship with Barcelona Football Club star Gerard Pique since 2011, and they have two sons together, Milan and Sasha. Shakira is known for her amazing figure, which she flaunts in stunning outfits during red carpet events and performances, such as the 2014 FIFA World Cup closing ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, where she donned a colorful red costume. However, it was her Super Bowl halftime performance with Jennifer Lopez that mesmerized over a hundred million viewers. Shakira started the show in a red, belly-baring outfit with a fringe miniskirt before wowing everyone with a mind-blowing six-minute set of her biggest hits. JLo then took over, and the two Latina powerhouses closed the show in metallic outfits. Shakira stunned in a gold bodysuit with fringe at the hips and a keyhole opening to show her abs. Her elaborate jacket emphasized her golden girl status. Check out our gallery for Shakira’s best looks over the last 20 years.
